We started practicing on the whole bottle-feeding thing a week or two before Stacy had to go back to work so that it wouldn’t be an abrupt change to her routine when the boob simply wasn’t around for nine hours.  When I took my first couple cracks at it, she was… resistant, to say the least.  One day she wouldn’t only eat if I kept walking the whole time and, on others, she just didn’t want to take it at all.  Stacy tried being out of the room or very quiet (or via ACME Whisper Signs™ here) so that Kia wouldn’t know she was there, but I don’t think that really mattered.  Biggest factor seems to have been to simply wait longer.  She’s willing to drink from the source even if she’s only kind of hungry, but for the bottle she needs to really want it.  She’s pretty good about taking it, now.

My shirt says “Sarcasm:  It beats killing people.”  This is how I get through my days without becoming a mass murderer.  Considering how much time she’ll be spending around me, Kia’s first coherent sentences will probably be sarcastic.  For now, though, she’s limited to arching her brow with an expression that says “I’m new to this world and even I know that was stupid.”  And she does it while wearing a cute, little, yellow and pink ladybug outfit.  It’s got ladybugs on the feet, which makes it cute.  Putting it on her makes it cuterer.  🙂
